| Post subject: | Engine and tranny question |
Hey all, Ok so i've decided that I'm gonna buy a rebuild kit, a hotter cam, pertronix ignition and do some headwork on a 225 super six that i will *hopefully* find at the boneyard. Anyhow, I have a couple of questions regarding this. First of all, what am I looking for in an engine to be rebuilt or are they all rebuildable? And secondly, will my 62 torqueflite tranny bolt up to any slant six or will I have to get an early year block? Thanks, Allen |

You can bolt your trans to any slant six. it is a direct fit on a 60 to 67. On a 68 up you will need the flexplate for that engine and a crank adapter "spacer". The adapter can be purchased from, torqueflyte patty or wildcat mopars. If you access to a lathe, it is easy to make yourself. |
