Hi Guy's

I have a 68 Charger /6 and 3 speed manuel trans.
I was going to clone it to a 440 4 speed and Dana but I think I will do some fun things with the /6 instead.

Right now it's at the painter for a new nice paint job.

But I would like to have my /6 put out something like 200-250hp.
I will try to use my 833 18 spline trans and the Dana 60 is already in place.

Some whats your input.

Engine overhaul, what pistons, port job, camshaft, intake, headers etc

Tranny, how do I fit the 833 to my 3 speed shield?
Is there and 18 spline clutches that is 9 inch only?

I drive a challenger Super Stocker and does all my work my self as building engines, trans etc. so thats not a problem.

But where do I find good slant parts??

Take care :)

There'll be more info put up here, but I suggest you first hit the boneyard looking for a van or pickup with a manual trans slant in it. Many of them had a 10" clutch, with flywheel to match. Get the bell housing while you're at it, and you'll have a dual-pattern in the event you want to try an A833OD trans.

Thaty B-body is a big, heavy car, and if you start beefing up the motor, it'll show up in the clutch wear. (You really think you won't get on it more?)

GTS225 thanks for the info.
Here in Sweden there are no boneyards with American cars, so I can't go that way.

Yeah it's a heavy car but with 4.10 reargear and lower first gear then original it should hold up.

I broke the 3 speed doing burnout's with some slicks on the rear, first gear is gone

But engine parts, where do I find good piston etc.
Is there forged pistons for the 225, I might put on a 100hp nitrous system on it later on.

try www.car-parts.com

shipping might be a bear, but you can find 11" clutch and bellhousing from 3/4 ton slant trucks. i have the 10" on mine (i think) but it looks like it is gonna' stay for a while.

It is a lot of weight to move around that body with a /6. But it is good that you do not walk the path that many have walked and toss out the six, replacing it with a bb. But if you do, toss it my way
I´ddbe interested to come and look at your project as it proceeds, AND look closer at your Challenger.

Yes I think my setup might be an eye catcher with a slant, tripple webers, hemi 4 speed, pistolgrip and Dana 60.
And I will drive around on frontrunner and slicks :D

A blower or turbo would be nice to

Take care duds :D
