Post subject: | 71 duster running rough... |
today i replaced my homeless looking fuel lines on my 71 duster. now for some reason, my car runs like dump. its running extremely rich and wont stay running with out flooring the acclerator. it ran ok enough before running the fuel lines and i dont understand what the heck i did. ive tried moving the mixture screw but i havent had any luck yet. my reman holley 1920 has never seemed to work 100%, especially on my '75 /6 i have in the duster now. i know its not the "correct" carb for the application since i have the egr crap just chilling all by its lonesome. it also seems to be acting like theres a problem with the carb float since it runs real bad on an incline now. the old lines where definitely restricted, especially the vent line which was rusted solid the entire length of the car. can this new found fuel flow be messing things up? it never ran this bad before and im having no luck at all. sorry for the long post, thanks for any replies... |

Not to ask but when you replaced the lines, did you replace the fuel filter (if any rust is clogging it up, you'll have some starvation). ? -D.Idiot |

the filter is new... i pulled the line where it connects to the carb and nice clean fuel is getting to the carb when the key is turned over. any other ideas? |
