Yea I know its weird but I recently acquired a '66 barracuda that was a drag car, really cheap too. It has no motor or tranny but it was a factory 273 car and Id like to put my slant 6 in it. But would I have to swap k members to do this?? You can laugh now.... ![]() ![]() and would be very competitive ![]() |

You're in luck - the K Frame is the same whether for a 6 or 8. You must use the 6 mounts - I'm just not sure whether they are 63-66 specific or can use the 67-72 mounts |

AND you get all the good V8 stuff like the 10 inch brakes, ball bearing steering gear unit, 5 leaf rear springs, heavier T-bars and a stronger rear axle. Do it! |

You will need the 63-66 "A" body, slant six engine brackets, insulators (mounts), oil pan and pickup. Any year engine and matching trans will work. |

Well The 5 leaf rear springs are nice but the previous owners set it up for a narrowed rear, already complete w/tubs! ![]() ![]() |

Just wondering what makes you think it started life with a 273 if nothing is original. |

Well the car still has it's original vin plate which denotes a 273V8 and the v8 emblem on the fender ![]() It's not very shiny or pristine but if anyone wants to check it out see my '71 Duster gallery |

I struggled for several years to restore/modify a 66 barracuda formula "s" that I eventually had to give up on due to extensive body damage. ![]() ![]() |
