| Post subject: | cam timing marks |
new motor all hooked up and ready to go, no start. compression is around 40 for each cylinder. i suspect the cam was installed incorrectly. engine puffs but won't take off and run. when installing the cam, the arrow on the cam gear lines up with the " 0 " on the crank gear right? the only marks i could find one the crank gear were some letters and the "0" symbol. (stock cam) i didn't degree the cam in, but i don't think it would affect enough to not start. i dunno, maybe it's the coil?? good spark though. |

sounds like your timing is off a little have you tried moving the distributor while someone crank? i didnt degree in my stock cam, lined up with timing chain marks(gears rather) dot to dot |
