Last night, for no particular reason, I was staring at the aluminum supersix intake I have sitting in the corner. Unfortunately it has the typical crack, right in the bottom of the floor. Then it dawned on me; is there any good reason I couldn't machine about 3/16" off the bottom of that, then make up an aluminum spacer to fill the gap? It seems so obvious that someone has to have tried it... any thoughts and/or results?
