The power brakes on my 1983 Ramcharger make noise as you let off of the brake and idle up the driveway. Not metal to metal or screeching in any way but a loose-dragging like sound. The pads and shoes are relatively new. But the noise is disturbing. What could it be? I am not familiar with how power brakes are supposed to be. It seems the feel of normal brakes is a lot more telling than with power brakes. bwhitejr |

The pads on disk brakes are always in light contact with the rotor, it's possible that is what you're hearing. Just to be safe though, I would pull the front wheels and inspect everything and turn the rotors by hand to see if you can locate the sound. |

Check your rear drums to make sure nothing came apart back there. |

take a look at your backing plates too and make sure theyre not hitting the rotor... |
