Post subject: | Problem with KH Dust boot mounting |
In the process of rebuilding my calipers, I noticed a small dent that looks like it was caused by a chisel or something. It deforms the dust boot seal just enough to force it to push into the piston more than it should. I am worried it will hang the piston up (it was hard to install, and harder still to get back out. Picture 1: http://tinyurl.com/ktz9o When I removed the boot, here's what I saw: Picture 2: http://tinyurl.com/k7m4f The question is, should I try and use a thin flap disc on a dremel to remove the material that is dented downwards to make this seal up correctly? I'm not sure what to try or what tool to use. Being cast, I can't see bending it very easily without deforming something else. Thanks! Menko |

Yep, your Dremel idea will work fine. Just proceed carefully. |
