HI,
I'm new to Mopars and am having lots of fun with a 62 Valiant,
(added bucket seats, Super Six set up and electronic ignition).
And out of the blue, I pushed the reverse button in and it won't come back up. What's that all about?

Thanks,
Mike

hopefully the plastic lever just came out of the prongs that hold it into the switch selector--Take the dash cover off & use a light source to check & see exactly what happened.. if nothing is broke just line it back up & push it back in place---

you might want to squeeze the prongs together just a little to help hold them-- (if they do not hole the lever tight)
Good luck

On my daughter's 61 it was a broken spring in the push button box.
It was part of the mechanism that was supposed to put the R button back to the front when N was pushed. I bought a 63 dart button box and used the spring from it as much of the innards were the same.

I would guess that a hard to move (dirty or kinked) shift cable might also have the same affect.

Everyone was right, the reverse button slipped out of the connector. I remated the two and it works fine again.

THANKS
