I have a numbers matching 71 swinger special built at the Ontario plant. In addition to the swinger/special emblems on the front 1/4s, it also has two Dart emblems up high on both back quarters. Not sure if they are correctly placed. I read an article once saying the Dart emblems were supposed to be there. But in the 71 Dart dealer brochure you see no pictures with those emblems. Was this something specific to the Ontario production run?

anyone know the real scoop?

The 1971 Factory Parts Catalogue does indeed show a "Dart" badge high on each quarter for the Swinger Special. They're supposed to be there.
