i have a '72 Valiant auto. what can i do to get rid of the kickdown linkages. i am wanting to have more options, possible dual carbs. what trannies could i swap in and what is the average total cost to swap to manual. i know prices vary wildly, but just wondering what swaps some of you guys have made. my old lady dosen't like the slant too much and i am trying to sell her on tricking it out rather than swap in a cookie cutter V8

The Lokar cable is a relatively painless alternative to the factory setups. The instructions are a bit lacking, but it's all pretty straighforward if you just look at what it needs to do.

Someone posted about their cable being of lesser quality, and higher price, then the Lokar cable. I don't know about that. I do know their customer service, was terrible, a couple of years ago. I will never buy from them again.

That accel/kickdown mounting bracket sure does look nifty though... If I had it to do over again, I'd probably by that instead of the jerry-rigged setup I have now. Heck... I may still...
