Are you going for the BFG's for looks or performance? Because I think you should be able to get tires locally that match or better the performance of the BFG's......... |

BFGoodrich is one of my favourite brands of tire. I've had consistently excellent success with their tires, across many cars and years. One thing, though: Most of BFG's tires carry the "T/A" label. Radial T/A, Traction T/A, All Terrain T/A, etc. I don't know what it stands for, but it's just one of their tradenames. So, you'd need to specify which ones you're looking for. Haven't BFG got an Argentine distributorship? |

The name "T/A" came about in the 70s when Trans Am racing was the rage. It's just BFG's attempt to associate with the high performance image that was embodied in that sport. |

believe it or not, my choices down here on wide tires for 14" rims are scarce. I have to choose 195/70/14 or 205/70/14 and that's all about it. Brands are $#!+ as their tires. Most of the tires are brazilian junk (really, no offense to brazilian industry but their tires suck badly) so I'll give tirerack a shot. I'm glad to read goodrichs are good (I had them not in the lowest of my consideration but neither on the highest. I pick them over other brands cause they're american and they have wide chunk 245/60/14...) ho... ho.... yum yum..... i can picture my car with those in the back... ![]() |

Didn't know tire down there where junk........... The BFG TA's are old technology. Current BFG's have more performance......... tirerack does have a nice site for comparing tires with test results and customer surveys, so you may find a better tire cheaper. (Unless you need the white letters) |

They're just about perfect for our cars, which are much older technology than the BFG Radial T/A tire. "Newer technology" in tires pretty much translates as ridiculously low-profile items that look weird and create ride and clearance problems on old cars.

just contacted tirerack. just about right prices and their customer service is excellent. we're trying to figure out shipping methods and such, I'll definitely post the feedback on them (altough is good already) and YES i need the white letters ![]() actually the only line and brand that makes the sixes I want in the same pattern (i disagree with mixind diffrent pattern style in the front or and in the back) I'm going 225-60-14 front 245-60-14 in the back. |
