Another thread made me wonder....how fast can you go with a Super 6? I know Dennis used a 2 barrel for a long time and if I recall Charlie went fast with a 1 barrel....and pmarvetz posted some quick times... |

IIRC, I went mid 16's with a BBD too. Seymour has run high 13's, but he uses a 2bbl Holley 500. |

The fastest I went with a 500 holley 2 bbl, was 16.14 (motor only), 13.16 on spray. I did go 16.4's with a 1bbl, in a lighter car. All with a 170 motor. |

16.7 @ 81 with BBD and log exhaust manifold, removed choke, stock converter, stock trans, probably could have gotten 15's with more work, went to 4bbl instead, (still have stock trans/conv it's my weak link wicked) |

I wen't a best of 16.43@80.94 in Medicine Hat. Elevation is 2415 ft. on start line. The time slip shows the corrected altitude to be 3722 ft. on that run. This was with a BBD carb in my 80 Aspen which weighed 3567 lbs at the time. |

I know I'm way late throwing my 2 cents worth in on this. I don't get to look at the site too much anymore. My best time with the BBD on my 69 Valiant was 15.40 @ 86mph. Mostly stock engine, headers, cam, cast iron manifold, 3.91 gear. Best time is 15.20 with 2 barrel holley from a 360 or 400 mopar. Joel |

Joel: that is a grrreat time slip for your set up! AndyZ: I have run my 4bbl 15.7 @ 87, it needs a converter baaaad, the trans is totally stock, it also needs more valve spring with my cam, I'm running stock springs right now. Another thing is my alignment, it's way off...........excuses excuses! |

I have seen Joel's car and raced him many times. The car runs exceptionally well for what is in it. You gonna be at RT66 or Monster Mopar Joel? |

hey sandy, the duster with a bbd ran in the 14.30s @ 90mph and with a 500cfm holley and clifford intake ran 13.87 @ 94 and won the last bracket race of the year at pacifice raceways. I'm currently running 4.56 gears with a 28in tire but plan on trying some 30 inchers to see if it picks up any on the top end. do you ever get to mission? |

Wow that is good,,,, I go past Mission .....but it is 8 hours from home. I will actually be there late tomorrow and tuesday doing deliveries. I was going to bring my Valaint to mission in early July but work got in the way. I need a new rear diff before I go to a sticky track because my 7.25 is on its way out and I have a lot more HP available than I used to. I plan on an Explorer 8.8 or Grand Cherokee dana 35 because of available gears and limited slip. I kinda like the dana 35 with the aluminum carrier and smallish discs. Id also like to get my 490 CFM throttle body injection on before racing cuz I think I get pretty lean with the BBD on the top end. Be fun to hook up sometime.... |
