if you do the numbers, a none boosted 225 at sea level with 100% efficiency (reality, the max would be 85%) would have a max CFM of 326 at 5000 rpm. as you increase altitude, it drops. so at 500 feet and at 85% its only 277 CFM so with this you can decide how much carb you need...just thought i would pass this on GRT ps thats why webers are so good for these engines..I used to sell and install webers and they perform very close to the same as a throttle body...pss a 38 dgv weber is 390cfm approximate :shock:

None. All will require an adapter.


The Holley 5200 flows 280 CFM.

99004.551 weber adapter kit....most are $35 to $45 depending on where you get it GRT

These are the ones I know about.
I tracked my 5210 down to coming off of a 1977 Vega. I found this info out of a Chilton Auto Repair Manual 1975 through 1982.

The 5200 is considerd a Ford Autolite Motorcraft Carb.(at least in this manual). From 1975-1981.

The 5210 is considerd a Holley as is the rest of the numbers below.

The 5210 included AMC 1977-1979.
GMC Chevette 1979 and 1980, Monza & Vega 1975-1978, Starfire 1976-1978, Astre, Sunbird and Ventura 1975-1978.

Numbers below are more electronic.
The 5220 is a 1978-1981 Chrysler Omni/Horizon version.

The 6500 is a 1978-1981 Ford Pinto/Bobcat.

The 6510 is a 1978-1981 GMC.

The 6145 and 6520 is a 1981 Chrysler.

5220 and 6520 (O2 feedback) and both vacuum secondary found on caravans up to mid 1987.

Yeah. A BBD is rated at 280 CFM, except the BBDs that were installed on 383 motors.

Don't forget that 1 BBL & 2 BBL carbs use the 3.0 inHg method to rate air flow CFM and 4 BBL carbs use the 1.5 inHg method........

Here's the formula

(4bbl rating) = ((2bbl rating)/1.414)
(2bbl rating) = ((4bbl rating)*1.414)
