I was just wondering how important it is to have those spring looking things (for protection) around brake lines? I installed new lines on my duster a while back, but will be sending it to the body shop soon, so i dont mine doing them again. If they are important, where could i order them? |

Look at the aftermarket tube vendors, classictube, inlinetube, etc theres a handful of them. I remember one of them selling by the foot even |

personally, i dont think the spring stuff is worth the time. all they do is hold dirt and road crap and cause the lines to rot out quicker. id just leave them as they are now and spray some paint/undercoating on them... |

I found that NAPA could get me the spiral wrapped brake line - they didn't think they could, but found that it was available (at least about 2 years ago). |

Isn't the reason for the spiral wrap to avoid collapsing the line when bending it? I've had the idea that you could make sharper bends and / or bend 'em by hand with the spring wrap. Of course, I could be wrong! The good news is I'm willing to learn. |

The spring wrap is to protect from road debris damage. The line on the firewall going to the right front isn't wrapped as it it not in a hazardous location. |
