| Post subject: | Offy Manifold Question |
For various reasons, I'm probably going to give up on fuel injection for the moment. I'm considering using a weber 32/36 DGEV or 34 DGEC. I've found adapters for 1bbl manifolds, but I had the offy 4bbl manifold in mind. In photos, the 4bbl mounting plate on the offy looks like it would be removeable. Is that the case, or would I have to modify that plate? Is there a ready made adapter for weber 2bbl carbs to the offy manifold? I know the Clifford manifold is universal, but I don't want the Clifford manifold because it requires headers. Thanks for any help! Moose |

If you want to run webers pierce manifolds has the 1bbl manifolds machined to take the weber 32/36 dgv's, but the offy intake and 4bbl is the cheapest way to go fast. |

clifford has a weber adaptor plate. Not sure or not if it has the same bolt pattern as the offy. So it may, or may not bolt onto your Offenhauser with ease. http://www.cliffordperformance.net |

On the Pierce website they only list a 2bbl adapter for a 1 bbl manifold, Clifford has one as well. Hopefully someone who has an Offy manifold can tell me if the 4bbl base plate is removeable. If so, the clifford 2bbl adapter for their open plenum manifold might work, but in the worst case I could fabricate something that would fit in the place of the 4bbl plate. Either way, I think I'll go with the Offy manifold. But it would be nice to be able to change carbs just by interchanging the base plates. -Moose |

As far as I could tell you the offy manifold does have a removable carb mounting plate. Mine does and I assume they haven't changed the design of it yet. My offy manifold is quite a few years old. But it is a great piece and cheaper than the clifford. When I want to run a 2bbl. I just slap a 2bbl carb adapter on the 4bbl plate and go. Mr gasket cat.#1933 for the adapter.Hope this helps |
