Post subject:  What is part number for oil seal in timing chain case cover

I removed the timing chain cover from my 1973 225 last night. This morning I went by the local Dodge dealer with my 73 service manual and showed the parts department the oil seal picture in the book. He needs the part number and his computer only goes back to 1984. Does anybody know the part number for the oil seal? Also, how much trouble is it to remove the old seal and then install the new oil seal? I do not have the "Tool C-3506" recommended in the service manual. Any suggestions?

The dealer generally is a fruitless place to go shopping, for he will have few parts available for your thirty-three-year-old car. A good parts store will be able to furnish the oil seal you need in a bigger hurry and at a lower price. No special tool is needed; carefully pry the seal with its steel ring out of the cover, being sure not to bend the cover. To install the new seal, place it rightside-in(!) atop the "well" stamped into the inside of the cover, and carefully tap it down by going tap-tap-tap round and round the seal with a flat-face hammer, until the seal is seated.
