With O-ringed block and copper head gasket, and water injection + intercooler? 40 psi. Stock motor? Don't know, 8 sounds safe. |

I agree with the 8 lbs, but 6 might be better. I"m inclined to go with 20 on the other motor, unless running alcohol, and then you would need a "blower"piston. Never got that high myself. The most I have run is about 12.

I am also putting together a Paxton /225 Slant. I have a stock + .030 balanced bottom end but big valves, 4bbl draw through, 3x2 headers. I was probably going to go with 8lbs. of boost. I am hoping for ~ 275 hp. My cam will be the big question. Good luck and let us know how it goes. |

I would agree with Charrlie, 6 lbs would be be safe with out an intercooler but probabily not any more. I am working on a Turbo setup on my slant with an air to water intercooler. I hoping to run about 10 lbs of boost with pump gas. I'll be be using a mega squirt computer to run the fuel injection and a T3/T4 hybred turbonettics turbocharger. |

how much power would 8 pounds add to a stock 225? somewhere i had heard that 8 pounds will add about 50% more power. is this true? |

if you have the right turbo setup and engine setup, at 7 pounds you can achieve possibly a 50% increase..but all has to be right. if i get mine like a want it, it wil be a 225 hp 225cid (145 stock HP then with mods it will be about 160 hp and then PROPERLY turbo'd...about 230 hp at 5000 rpm but will figure in inefficiencies so i will boast 225 hp) GRT |
