Hey, I was talking to DD a couple of years ago about changing the pressure on power steering to make it less sensetive and give back some road feel. I saw this http://www.marchperf.com/pg52 "Part # P306 Regulator kit allows you to regulate pressure for power rack and pinion or gear box requirements. Suggested List Price.... $26.25.html item number " and i was wondering if anyone had tried this product. I love my PS because the car handles way better, but its so vague. Thanks |

H'mmm. I don't think cutting the line pressure will do anything beneficial for you; I think all you'll get is annoying "pump catch" (wheel gets much harder to turn if you turn it fast). Many Mopars do this already without any kind of pressure reduction. There are ways of increasing the road feel and feedback in your power steering system; you would need to install stiffer reaction springs in the steering gearbox. Just as an aside, what is it you mean by the "better handling" you get with power steering? P/S does reduce the number of steering wheel turns from full left to full right, but it doesn't help the car's actual handling...in fact, it hurts it, because P/S is considerably heavier! |

I meant about the lock to lock. I couldnt turn the wheel fast enough on the twisties! It didnt improve the handling as you said, it made it possible for me to corner fast enough to actually notice the KYB's and the sway bars. I had no idea the convertible handled that well until i put the PS on! the reaction spring, is that in the valve body right? not the regulator that is on the end of the valve body... I am putting a new box in today/ tomorrow. I hate adjusting that thing, it scares me to death. |

The reaction rings are in the steering gearbox itself, not in the valve body. Why does adjusting the steering box scare you? |

For what it's worth, internal leaks in the top the PS steering box can cause odd PS problems, but are easy to fix. Also, resetting the lash in the steering box can make a huge improvement if it's too loose. |

last time I adjusted it, the valve was all the way to one side, and as I started the car hte wheel whipped out of my hands and went to ful left lock, and it was really hard to turn right. Luckily , i wasnt going anywhere. |
