Post subject:  85 trk with 6..breathing after several years..
got the old girl running again. sat for several years or more with original owner not able to keep maintance up. I got it from his estate after his death. needed good tune-up and new clutch..its a blast to drive! 68k miles with 4 speed od. short box. bare bones, reminds me of the old A-100 trk I had that had a slant in it. ( I foolishly attempted a rear-engine 392 swap in it) had bought 2 Hemis (392) for $800 dolars. All I need to do to this truck is change OLD oil- and try to adjust the steering wheel play. just had to share- Gene SRX4401979@aol.com

Good to hear another one is back on the road. Hey, I don't blame you for trying that rear Hemi engine idea. Sounds cool! (Far out kustom, man!)

thanks- it was a 'fun' idea..but alot of work. running power thru a inverted transfer case and running rear axle in reverse. but never got that far- did get to almost getting motor in rear (boxed frame-moved wheel wells/axle to rear ect..) It ended up in scrap yard. but the A-100 had a plaque on dash saying..us department of navy ect..I should never have butchered it! and it originally had a slant 6 too!. oh well- another lesson learned. I foolishly let a yellow AAR go for $1400 dollars once too- uggg Gene

Check for bad ball joints, wheel bearings, tierod end, etc before you mess with the adjustment on the steering box.

Got to love an old six powered truck!
