Post subject:  Power to manual steering(what pitman arm will work?)

I am changing over my 74 Duster from power to manual steering. (race car)I need to know what year/style pitman arm will work with the smaller diameter manual box steering gear. The manual box is out of a 71 A body. Would a pitman arm from a 74 A body with factory manual steering work? The pitman arm off the 71 will not work because the steering centerlink is different. Any help or ideas will be great. Thanks, Brian

I am fairly sure this is a "no go" deal. Unless I'm misremembering, both power and manual steering got the large pitman shaft for '73. But, I could easily be wrong. Looking at BigBlockDart's Steering/Suspension Parts Guide, it looks like '73-'76 A-bodies had different pitman arms for power vs. manual, so perhaps a K7075 (Moog number) will get the job done for you.

Thanks Dan. I will look into the Moog K7075 and check the pitman shaft diameter to see if it will work. If not, I can find a 73 & up manual box.
