This thing is great! So far, all I have had to do is jet it down 2 sizes. It flat works great. I don't know why I didn't switch to this 600 double pumper years ago. That 390 of mine is a toilet plunger compared to this carb. I guess now I'll leave the 390's to the street guys who want to go slow. At least a bad 390 is still better than a good Edelbrock or Carter. Hi Mike! |

Always fun to set a low ET with your car with new parts... If it's good enough for the Buzzin' car, it's good enough for your red wagon, eh? Lou |

You know I noticed that when I went from the 8007-390cfm to a 600 cfm with annualar venturies...the pickup and top end were awesome...since I couldn't get my foot "off" the accelerator, my gas mileage went south... Cool, Big D!!! I'm actually about to try "the best of both worlds" and am working up a 465 cfm Holley with annular primaries...so I should have a fair compromise between "mileage" and "POWER" -D.Idiot |

Mileage? What is this mileage you speak of? Lou, yeah going fast is good. I am gonna try a couple things yet and hopefully will get this thing into the 11's in street trim. As it sits now it is completely street legal w/plates and insurance on it. |

I was talked into getting a 390. It costs twice as much and now I hear it doesn't work as well on a slant? After my 390 dumped fuel all over my engine for the third time not due to over pressure I took it apart and found that the float had a rough part that was hanging up on the needlevalve. Now that I will be using a Paxton, I decided on trying a Demon blow through. I have heard good and bad so what the hell, its only $560! |

Andy, The carb Slantzilla has is a 600 double pumper not the 1850 Holley vacuum secondary 600. It's a more expensive carb. I had my 390 flood a couple times due to a speck of dirt on the needle valve. At least it's easy to fix the on a Holley. No fuel line removal required. Annular boosters do work well. In fact they are the best Holley booster. The straight-leg boosters in the 390 are the worst performing boosters with the down-leg boosters being in the middle somewhere. The Barry Grant Road Demon 525 has annular boosters on both primary and secondary side. They also have 4 corner idle, electric choke, and quick change vacuum secondary springs. $340 new doesn't seem too bad for all that. The 575 Speed Demon also has all those features and should be a great carb for folks running more than cam duration, but they run $400. |

Make sure you disassemble it and look for undrilled passages, and clean out all the junk before you use it. BG quality sucks. |

Bagel is right on this. Have a MOPAR racing friend with a small block crate engine put on a brand new BG and it was a dog stumbled, could not adjust ect. Took it apart it was full of metal shavings and junk. If i was going to buy another racing carb i would buy a Holly racing carb modified by Keith Dorton. I have a 390 cfm KD double pumper that came off of a NASCAR Craftsman truck engine will smoke on a stock Slant. But would not sell it at this time Thanks Ron Parker I love the smell of burnt Bagels in the morning |

I have used 2 in the past without any problems. Maybe just lucky so far. What is selling me on this one is it is blow through ready. I will let you know how it works. |
