Post subject: | '71 Dart: Horn relay/ignition buzzer location? |
I'll probably find it eventually on my own, but if anyone could please tell me the physical location of the horn relay/ignition buzzer on a '71 Dart, I'd be most grateful. It's clever how they added another set of contacts to the horn relay so it would serve as a "key in ignition" buzzer and all, but the buzzer's driving me buzzy and I want to deactivate it stat, so any help's appreciated. Behind the kick panel, maybe...? |

hiya dan- if memory serves, it should be high above the left kickpanel screwed to the body with a black, purple and red or green wire? i think my girlfriend packed up all my service manuals for our big move. sorry, it's been a while since i've been under the dash of my '70. -james |

Check around the glovebox(you probably knew that) and on the fuse box. On my 74 Duster the buzzer is a seperate, two-pronged relay all together. I just pulled it and it hasn't caused any more problems. |

Just got a clean 74 Dart swinger and the buzzer isn't working. Until I determine on my own I don't want the buzzer, I'd like to get it working. Is it around the glovebox, or above the left kickpanel? There's nothing special about it, correct? Other than when you put the key in the ignition, it should go on...right? |

Look around the fusepanel. It is a little two pronged box. Key in ignition and door open it should be buzzing. Drives me nuts. |

'Zactly! I reached up, found the one thin-gauge wire running to it, pulled it off, and the buzzer stopped buzzing but the horn still works. Perfect! Thanks.
