So I was crawling around under my truck today, trying to decide what the best course of action would be to get to the bad gas sending unit. Well, I looked back at the axle and noticed the nuts looked a little funny to me; there was no exposed thread. Upon closer inspection, only half the nut actually engages the threads on the passenger side! The drivers side has one exposed thread on each nut. It appears the PO put add-a-leafs on and didnt change the U-bolts. Horray for retards. Of course I feel like a bit of a retard for just now noticing it after owning the truck for almost 3 years... Anyway, I know what my project is for next weekend! |

Look on the bright side; you won't have to contend with any rusted-U-bolt issues, for the final threads will've been covered by the nut! |
