I had to leave before the end Saturday night, but when I came back on Sunday, one of the Race Officials told me that Norm Foster had won the Slant 6 racing event. I don't know the entire results, but I'm sure someone has them and will post on the board. I did see Norm run two 11.84 ET's Saturday. Congratulations to all the Slant Six Racers there! They put on a great show. |

Yeah we had a lot fun in Valdosta. I lost out in the first round of eliminations to Charlie but I made it to the third round of eliminations in street class. Charlie did pretty well in the pro class. More details are under my thread in the Virtual Dragstrip part of the forum. |

We had 12 cars show up to race. 10 made first round. Dale Rose broke his motor, during time shots, and a new slanter from Florida, was not allowed to race. He drove up alone, and being he was two weeks short of his 18th birthday, the track would not permit him to race, with out a signed perental permission form. He was very disappionted. We had six new, and six previous racers. The final was between Norm with a full boogie race car and Clint Boyd, a new slixer, with a street driver. Norm won on a double breakout run. Just goes to show, you don't need to have a race car to do well, in slant six racing. |

Congrats to Norm, he is a great SL6 racer who has worked his way up over the years. I got some "dirt" on Norm, I remember when he was just starting out and broke a tranny at the 2003 Clay City event. Norm got "down and dirty" and swapped transmissions between rounds and made the call for the next round! http://www.slantsix.org/galleries/clayc ... foster.jpg Thanks for the up-date Charlie, it is great to see all the new racer we are getting at this year's events. EVERYONE out there, please make the effort to go out and see a SSRN SL6 race, you will show your support to our "cause" and you will have fun. Hey Charlie did you get the name and address of the new slanter with the white Duster. Hopefully he will come back and race with us next year. He said he was going to come here and join. |

Yes, I have all the contact info, for everyone that raced, and others that were interested in slanting. Right now "big mama" (Norm's wife), has the list. She is sending Seymour the info, so these people can get a copy of the Slant Six Racing News. |
