well, last week i replaced all the starter system(mostly used working parts not brand new, im poor!) except the coil and ignition switch wires, and i thought that the ignition switch had fixed the problem, however, it just wouldnt start back up after a mile trip to the gas station, got it started and brought home by running a jumper wire from the battery to the positive terminal on the coil, it started right up, seems like its the + coil wire, a theory that gained some ground when we noticed it has some cracks in it (blue wire that normally runs there), since it started and made the mile return trip, the coil might be alright huh?, also, where does the wire come from that fastens on the + terminal of the coil? thanks!

sorry all, i keep forgetting to post my specs with my questions, its a 67 dart gt, i found my haynes manual(yes, i know i should get the factory one, but dont have the extra money for it at the moment) i think the wire comes off the ceramic resistor on the firewall, think im gonna try putting a new one on there and then see what happens

sounds like no power to the coil, I would test the switch itself.
if it ran with a jumper the coil is good, though without running through a ballast resistor you could eventualy damage the coil, but it would take a while.
