Pittsburgh is July 23. Please confirm your reservations in this post.

I'm looking realisically and I can't see how it won't be one of the biggest races of the year. Anyone looking for a chance for big points should think about towing up here!

I'm gonna go out of my way to make it a great time for everyone who attends. I'll be bringing food (burgers and more) and beverages (water or cola) for all slant six friends and family.

Lets start naming names or you might think I'm crazy.
Me, 2 cars and my truck will all be entered, I'll rent the cars (upon request) and drive my truck. I'm determined to make a deal so that they all get entered this year. Send me a PM if you can make it but can't bring a car.
Jim Cox, sponsor and all around good guy from Columbus OH
Mike Reese, we won't count him, but he usually comes with the Cox crew
Greg Ondako, 69 Dart should be fixed by then,
Brian, 72 ish duster is looking fast for a rookie,
Phil, has already mentioned his intentions

That's 7 cars! and it's still months away.

Possible but unconfirmed:
Seymour, promised he would make it this year, but he's really busy.
Lou Madison, he's driven lots farther and I'll hound him a little
Lou has more than 1 car and sometimes brings a friend.
2 others from the eastern part of the state that attended carlisle last year and would have come to pittsburgh if there was a 2005 event.
My mopar parts guy daily drives a slant powered d-150 like mine and may or may not show.
Greg's dad has a real nice dart convertable, but I don't think he would race it.
I think about 3 more guys at the 2004 race that I don't know who they are, so I hope they would come again.

That's 6 or 7 more unconfirmed but possible

I'm looking for solid replys from everyone on the list. I know there are a couple of our southern boys who will make the trip if we can promise them such a can't miss event.

I'd love to see one or more of the Drakes cars (they've got at least 3 last I heard)
Rodney Hargis
Ron Parker
Norman Foster
Barry Harrison
Gary Bruner
Ron Hamby
Dale Rose

That's 8 more that could make it, but would have to make serious plans to tow for it.

I know it's a long tow guys, and I understand that you can't make every race, but this is sure to be a really good year to make it to Pittsburgh. If there is anything I can do for anyone to help them get here, please contact me.

It could be possible to pull 18 cars together at a single event! What more can I offer?

I won't be able to race my car, but I'll be there with it and my son, who'll have just turned 1 the day before. Can't think of a better B-day present then our first drag races spent together.

Don't be crazy :o My wife and son will be there with some of the other 'racing widows' and will gladly keep an eye on your son for the 5 minutes it takes to run round robin every other hour. We'll still have lots of time to spend with the little ones.

As for the car, i'm sure you won't hurt it by running it down the track a few times. You don't have to do burn outs or neutral drops, and it's really great fun!

Don't make me twist your arm! :D

:Twist twist: Well, if you really insist, then what the hey. Might as well get a chance or two to scare my wife.

Hi Paul,
Maybe I could drive the Dart up.....I'll have to see how my vacation schedule works out. Sounds like a lot of fun. Been awhile since I've put anything down the track.

This date will get here fast! Thanks for sounding off guys

I've now got a 3rd slant six powered car in the works and a truck and only 1 driver! If anyone wants to fly in (instead of towing) for such a big group meeting and race in one of mine, please let me know! Latrobe airport (a small one) is very close to Pittsburgh Raceway Park.

Anyone who needs more details should please call or PM me.
Thanks again,
Paul

I got a mailer from the chrysler classic events for early registration. If I can find time, I'll scan it in and post it. Until then, you can get info about Pittsburgh or other events at their website:

I am hoping for 15.90's It really feels quicker than last fall before I replaced the trans, it was slipping so badly going into second and I still managed 16.34. The carb is going to be rebuilt this weekend I hope. I have to get a dial timing light. I think I am getting more mechanical advance than I want. I still havent even begun to get a manual steering box for that swap. So much to do so little time.

I got my form in the mail, and I agree that you may not be able to do it online yet. Sorry to spout about nothing.

If you can figure out what amount of mechanical advance you need, I can make you up a custom advance plate. I'll want a core.
