Slantdog, that is a nobel goal, but one that will take time, and money to accomplish. Why don't you start by taking it to the track and seeing what it will do now. Don't be surprised if it only runs 18's or even worse. The cars that go in the 15's or lower have been worked on, and tweaked for some time by their owners, but that is part of the joy of the process. Get some starting numbers, and then figure where you want to go from there.
You have a great vehicle there. I wish a had one like it. I have alot of yard trimmings I need to get to the dump, and my Turbo Slant Swinger will not do the trick.

To run 15's you'll just need money, this forum, time, and effort. To run 11's in a heavy pick-up with six cylinders of 45 year-old technology, I suggest a JATO engine strapped to the bed.

That should eliminate the traction problem.

Saying "15 to 11" is roughly like saying "I need some money - between $100 and $10,000".

Or... Nitrous 150 shot and a modified Daytona nose and wing to keep it on the road
