Post subject:  Forged Crank and Damper

The damper I have on my cast crank 225 SL6 is much thicker than the forged crank damper on my '72. Why is that? How can I get the pulley off of the front of the forged damper? Maybe that is the difference? The cast crank damper has a pulley slot built-in and the forged crank has a pulley mounted on the front of it.

All the slant-6 dampers have a pulley cut into the outer ring member of the damper unit. The front and/or rear pulleys (for power steering and A/C comperssor drive, respectively) bolt onto the single-groove damper with three bolts each.
