My inner front pump gear has been worn on the inside where the torque converter engages the pump. I believe it's worn because the hub of the torque converter was cracked. Do these the pump gears get replaced as a set? I think I'll check my other core's pump and see if it's better.

OK, the other (V8 A904) core's inner front pump gear isn't worn as obviously as the one from the /6 A904, but the bore is rougher and about the same maximum diameter of the /6 inner pump gear. The teeth of the V8 pump gear don't look as good as the slant gear. It appears both pump gears are worn on their ID, but the /6 gear just has a more pronounced wear pattern. A and A Transmissions sells pump gear sets so I would imagine so do other, nearer places. I hope that throwing mo' money at this now means fewer problems later.
