Post subject:  twin 2 bbls cabs
I have a 67 dart with a 225 / 6. I am going to put on my twin carb manifold from. http://www.offyparts.com/product_info.p ... 862c614fab
after the rebuild of my motor. what is the best twin 2 bbls cabs to put on? & do i have to modify the manifold? thank's

i once saw a guy at rockingham with a twin holley 2300 setup. it was in a toad and looked like it would really scream. i never found out since he broke a u-joint or something since the car lifted the front end then rolled to a stop. i'm sure you'd have to modify the manifold. a bbd or similar holley would probably fit, but you'd have to open up the manifold to accomodate the two barrell and drill/tap new holes for the bolt pattern, but i'm sure it could happen. IIRC the toad guy had welded carter to holley adapters to his manifold and used a die grinder to blend everything together.
i have never personally run anything but a pair of holley 1945s on any of my motors. they work great on a 225 , but are a bit much on a 170 with the same .460" cam (linkage mods are required on the stock offy setup.) i think twin 2bbl carbs would be a over the top for anything other than high rpms which slants really don't like anyway. the twin weber progressive setup is still available from www.piercemanifolds.com (according to their website) but i'm sure they could sell you a pair of those carbs and the linkage bits to go with them.

i talked to them a while back about pricing and wile i don't recall the exact number it was kinda high like the proline deal @$800. still a nice setup and probably well worth the dough.

Yes, but those are NOT progressive carbs. You have both barrels of both carbs opening at the same time.

Yes, but the best carb would be a staged 2v (Holley/Weber 5200). Stoveboltengine sells rebuilt ones for around $60 apiece.
