I am replacing my rear leaf springs. I will be going to Super Stock Springs from Mopar Performance. My GAWR for the front is 2080 and the rear is 2165. Should I get the 2800# or 3800# springs? This is a street/strip vehicle. Also I will be putting a 8 1/4" or 8 3/4" rear end under it too. Which is the best set-up/combination?

Does anyone have any experience that they could share about the Super Stock Springs? I need to know which ones to buy.

When i got mine mancini only offered one set for an a-body so I really cant specify what set I have.

here is my experience with SS springs others opinions may vary.

They work if your primary concern is hooking up. With my mild smallblock they made an open rear hook. Quite impressive in my opinion. One of the things people like is they are stone simple.

Here is the but. This is old technology. It works and works well but there are better options today. SS springs are biased to one side. Just bolting them in will raise one side of the car considerably over the other as well as raising both sides fairly high. This is not optimal for handling or cruising. The ride is fairly rough also on the street.

In the car with SS springs I now have a 440 with 3.55 sure grip. the axle is moved back and front hangers flipped to bring me back to the ride height i desire. with these alterations the SS springs are no longer enough to make the car hook up so if and when I do it over i will not use the SS springs unless i am building a cheap small block car for strictly drag racing.

there are pro's and con's to anything. make sure you are willing to accept the cons as well as the pro's before you spenfd the cash.

I got the 2800# springs for mine. they did raise the back end about 3" over the old worn out stockers. one side does sit higher but you have to be looking for it to notice. No one has come up to me and said "man your car sits funny". they did greatly improve launch traction and they are stiffer but the car really rides nice on these terrible Pennsylvania roads. the ride is not harsh at all. if you are going to race the car I highly recomend them. I used them on my daily driver/occational racer for the last 2 years.
