How much more HP does the Super Six setup give. The exhaust has also been increased to I think 2 1/4 inch. Its got a bit of a rumble, so the muffler must be some type of a high flow type. |

And also, how much of effect does going to supersix have on mpg? |

Factory rated the Super Six at +10 HP. Fuel mileage will vary, but most report the same or even slightly improved mileage (provided you drive fuel consciously). |

Super six works best with a super six distributor (9r governor) |

Do a search on "governor" or "recurve" and spend an hour reading the search results.

The govornor is the mechanism inside the distributor that controls the mechanical portion of the timing advance. The number, in this case 9, is the number of degrees of total advance it will yield, measured at the cam. Since you have two revolutions of the crank for each revolution of the cam, that yields 18* at the crank. I believe the 'r' stands for right-hand rotation, but I could easily be wrong. Now, the advantage of the 9r, as opposed to the 15r (another common one), is that you can run 10* or so of initial advance and still be right around the 30* total that the slant likes. More tuning is still needed, but it's closer "out of the box," so to speak. |
