Hello everyone, got a small problem on my new carter fuel pump. I can't find what thread it is on the outlet. It seems like 1/4" but not NPT and when I try BSP it doesn't engage either...
What could it be? Since it isn't (or I had the wrong NPT & BSP) 1/4" x 19 nor 1/4" x 18, what TPI could it be?
Thanks for your help

Marc

And by the way, can anybody confirm that it needs a double flared fitting (concave seat)?
=> There's like a funnel pointing at me when i look in the outlet.

The outlet fitting is 5/16" inverted flare (often written as 5/16" IV-flare). It is not pipe thread, and pipe thread will not seal on it. This might be a good time to do the fuel line modification; I have some of the necessary fittings if you cannot obtain them locally. I don't recall what carburetor you're running, but you would probably need only one of these fittings, to provide a hose nipple on the fuel pump outlet so you can run fuel-injection hose up to the carburetor.

Thanks Dan!
Inverted flare? What's that? It looks like a double flare though!
Thanks for the offer, I'll check a few retailers (are there any... ) before asking you.
Not pipe thread... But is it UNC thread? Is it 5/16 x18?
Thanks for your help

Marc

P.S : about the routing trick, it was already done when i bought the car!

When I did the fuel line mod on my dart I found the fittings needed at advance auto. They were located in thier 'help' section.
