I am planning to build a slant and have been doing a lot of research. I ve read the Hot Rod artical Slant Sickness and Dougs "A non-stroker "stroker", The long rod 225". I plan to combine these two ideas. Your combinations and ideas are appreciated. My build is as follows:

Block:
Stock forged crank
7" 198 rods
Hpereutectic 2.2 pistons (KB239) 5cc 482 grams with pin
High volume Clifford oil pump (PN M66HV)
Windage tray
ARP bolts

Head:
Moderate port and polish
Value springs Mopar performance single with damper (PN 120249)
Valves 1.70(I) (PN SPV857) 1.44 (E) (PN SPV856) w/ hard seats
Head gasket .020
Mill head just enough to make flat.
APR bolts

Cam: 276 dur 464 lift
Double Roller

Exhaust:
Clifford header (PN55-0144)

Rear gear 3.23:1

Fuel 93 Octane I should be around 10:1 CR (that may need to be checked)

After market multi port fuel injection (FAST maybe) on machined Clifford intake or twin 2 barrel weber carbs on Clifford intake.

Shooting for the 14's with no turbo or NOS, but would like it to be some what NOS friendly for the future.
Do I seem out of my mind or does this seem doable?

You should look at the "Slantzilla" build it is about what you are about to do, your car is light and with the right cam choice and carb setup could match Big D's numbers.... Big D has some nice #'s on the Son of Slantzilla rebuild using the bottle o' Juice...

I would not use the steel .020 "shim" gasket. They have been out of production for awhile, and are getting harder to find (more expensive). Use a "normal" composition gasket, they are slightly thicker, and mill the head or deck as necessary to get the compression you want. Also a high volume oil pump is not necessary, and puts more load on the pump gear.
