I have a super six 225 A 833 OD which I will be putting in my project (64 Dart SW). I have all along thought I would do a total rebuild before I put the engine in, but the darn thing runs so good I'm not sure.
Just tossing this out there for all to comment at will or tell a tale about a similar situation.

right now I'm weighing what I want out of the Dart (ie Dailey driver etc) and the $$$. One thought is just adding the things I want to the "short block now, and drop it in and then find another block and rebuild it in time.

Thanks in advance

Personally, I like to enjoy my car on the road a while between major projects. If I were to wait until I had built the objective version of the engine, and had the right transmission, and the right rearend, etc, it'd never see the light of day.
Besides, having an engine in the car and one on the stand means you have TWO engines ... and that's a good thing!
