Anyone know if these starter brake washers can be replaced on or off the car? Wind-down is a real pain. Also, I think that I can kluge together a modestly-sized alum. rad shroud (front and back) to alleviate recent cooling problems. Does anyone recollect if it's worth the effort? Std. new hoses 4-blade fan/2-row rad, No AC. Thanks |

Brake washer R&R requires disassembly of the starter motor. What year and model are you working with? It may be easier to hunt up a factory shroud. |

/6Dan - I apologize for not responding sooner. Got injured. Thanks for the info re: the starter. Something to consider, given that removal seems simple enough. This is a stn wagon, 2 row Modine rad. I have never seen a shroud that looked transferrable. Thanks. |

I missed buying a starter on ebay for $2.25! but he didnt take paypal and I can't wait. Not to many people want these so their going for nothing. Two bolts and you have a replacement starter in 5 minutes and keep the other as backup PS because of some 'environmental' cleanup were I live you be lucky to find any part at a junkyard more than six years old they crushed everything else. Not even starters for 89'-00' dodges and anything slant is out of the question. Ebay is going to have to be my junkyard from now on |
