Post subject:  Slant 6 oil pan removal.

Well let me start by introducing myself. My name is Brian, I called some one up about a 1975 duster hoping it had a 360 in it. Well it had a slant 6. At first I was disapointed, but after seeing how fast it started and driving it I thought it was decent enough. I paid 600 for the car. My car domain is... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2395051 I have had this car for a little over two weeks now, and science then I've poped off the fenders, doors, and front bumper.

Now for the point of this post. I need to change the oil pan gasket, I decided I could do this in the car. So the oil pan is now loose but the control arm that connects both tires wont come off. I have tried everything I can think of. Does anyone know how to get it off?

Thanks,
Brian

the piece of steering linkage? goes across the back of the pan? go to your parts house and borrow a "pickle fork". most will let you borrow it for a small deposit.

good luck

if you want to relpace the pitman arm and idler arm use a pickle fork, if you dont need to replace them now rent the balljoint seperator kit. I'll never seperate a ball joint with a pickle fork again.
