Post subject: | Slant 6 oil pan removal. |
Well let me start by introducing myself. My name is Brian, I called some one up about a 1975 duster hoping it had a 360 in it. Well it had a slant 6. At first I was disapointed, but after seeing how fast it started and driving it I thought it was decent enough. I paid 600 for the car. My car domain is... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2395051 I have had this car for a little over two weeks now, and science then I've poped off the fenders, doors, and front bumper. Now for the point of this post. I need to change the oil pan gasket, I decided I could do this in the car. So the oil pan is now loose but the control arm that connects both tires wont come off. I have tried everything I can think of. Does anyone know how to get it off? Thanks, Brian |

the piece of steering linkage? goes across the back of the pan? go to your parts house and borrow a "pickle fork". most will let you borrow it for a small deposit. good luck |

if you want to relpace the pitman arm and idler arm use a pickle fork, if you dont need to replace them now rent the balljoint seperator kit. I'll never seperate a ball joint with a pickle fork again. |
