Ok, Im reading up on the hyper-pak slant six and am curious about it. I read that it was factory rated at around 195 hp? But I have also read that it was HIGHLY underrated. What were the cam specs of the hyper-pak engine? Is there a hyperpak cam available? Was there a 170 and 225 version of this engine? Anything else special to the hyper-pak engine?? Did the hyperpak have a special head developed for it???

There actually were no factory Hyper Pak motors. It was a kit you bought from the dealer. IIRC, it was intake & exhaust manifolds, carb, cam and springs, and some say 4.88 gears. The NASCAR cars were all 170 motors. |

I heard it also came with special domed pistions to jump the compression up to 10.5 without shaving the head. It still used those tiny stock valves though. I think it also included a tweaked distributor. |
