ok well a few weeks ago i was gonna make an attempt to install a lil sub in the back but i could figure the best way to run my amp wire...i seen several openings in the firewall but they didnt lead into the cockpit of the car..and well i ended up just running the wire through the damn fender/door and it looked horrible..after that i didnt know how i was gonna run the wire into the trunk area lol i couldnt find any clean openeings and i ended up messing up my one rear seat. so any input would be awesome and pics would be even better!!! |

Before anyone can help you with specifics, we'll need to know which particular vehicle you're dealing with. Personally, I always just drill a new hole in the firwall to run such stuff though. Many don't like that method though. |

I ran my power wire from the battery, zip tied to the brake line, up and over the axle and poked a hole in a body plug over the axle leading into the trunk. Make sure to keep it away from the exhaust and any pinch points for the rear suspension. For the wires out of the stereo, went behind pass side kick panel, underneath the door sills and carpet and underneath the back seat. |

what a idiot i am lol i got a 82 diplomat, ya know JPOPE i was actually considering running my wires outside the vechicle like that, seems kinda ghetto tho lol but w.e works, as for drilling into the firewall..i could see me doing that and still not being able to feed wire through ![]() |

The external routing is another viable option. I had a friend w/ a '94 intrepid that elected to run 00 gauge power wire. I seem to remember it being the better part of an inch in diameter, so there was no way he was going to be able to run it under the carpet w/o it being very noticable. |

coulda also been a bad ground too, i mean i notice alot of idiots grounding there amps to the bolts that hold tailight assemblies in place..or to any bolt thats just in the rear trunk area thinking its a good ground...i was always about a chassis&body ground |

Yeah, with that much amplifier he probably should have run a dedicated ground wire to the engine or battery.
