My tranny isn't shifting down to first when I stop, and when I am rolling in drive at a slow spend and realize I need to downshift into second the clutches slip, causing the engine to rev up a little before shifting. My trans. guy said earlier that with the kickdown lever pushed all the way back the front pump should have made at least 150 lbs or more, but only made less than half that. It has been shifting allright until the past couple of days, so I guess 250 h.p. is too much for the old, stock tranny. I'm asking him to install the new 10" 3,500 rpm converter and the 888 trans. internals while the transmission is out. Is this the right thing to do? |

It sounds like you have little choice in the matter. Put in the good factory hard parts, good clutches, bands and shift kit. Then you should be ok. |
