Post subject:  Remanufactured carbs.

Has anybody had any luck in finding a company that makes qualitywork in rebuilding/remanufacturing of a supersix carburettor?

I've tried to found out info in old threads, but so far I've just come up with the word "junk" all the time.

What about http://www.carbsonly.com/ for example? Good or bad?

CarbsOnly is probably a good pick. So is the Old Carb Doctor (800-945-CARB -- expensive!). You can likely get a quality job out of Modeski. If you're in Ontario, there's Specialty Carb, 416-259-7877. And, we've had a board member here give a thumbs-up recommendation for Glen Burnie Generator & Carburetor Co in Maryland, (410) 761-0056.

What you are looking for is a complete rebuild of your carburetor, including rebushing the throttle body and re-phosphating the castings so that they do not corrode. The term "remanufactured" applies specifically to the factory-ruined garbage from the parts stores.

I hope to find someone that sells without getting a core back. Also that the company would send worldwide due to the fact I live on the other side of the globe, in Finland.

Ah, OK, that's a different situation: You haven't got a carburetor to send in (or it would cost too much to send it in). In that case, a new carburetor is probably what you are after. Send me a PM, I may have one for you.
