Anybody have an idea of the best way I can lower my suspension on my 85' D100? I would lilke to drop it 1" on the front and maybe 2-2.5" on the rear. I cannot find a lowering kit anywhere for this year/model truck.

Thanks

For the rear, the chevy (same year series) drop shackle kits will work, but ya have to drill the holes in the frame to the bigger G.M. bolt size.
Just one inch on the front may be tough....lots of stuff posted on moparts in the truck forum. lots of guys cut the springs, and ya can use van lower control arms,(they have deep spring pockets) with the same size ball joints, but this drops em around 3 or more inches. I have also heard dakota drop spindles will work, but not sure on which year series trucks they fit. AIM sells kits with dropped lower arms, but have heard mixed reviews quality wise.
My 2 cents worth...

IIRC the chevy drop shackles must be drilled out for the larger Dodge bolt size, not the frame for Chevy bolts.

For the front, and only 1", cutting the coils is probably the easiest option. You may also look into drop springs for a 94+ Ram. They are not the exact same diameter, but are close enough, as people on Moparts and I believe RCC have used them with success.
