I know this has been covered many times before, but i can't find it so...What is the maximum rpm for a super-six 225? Mine is in a lobster boat, and i need to do the math for the right prop. Thanks Gray |

Would you run it right at the red line, or some percentage below that? I figured 5K to be about tops with my car when it had a stock slant with a super six set up. If I were putting it in a boat, I would probably feel most comfortable running it at a steady 4500. What cam do you have in it? Marine cams are usually fround for higher RPM. Sam |

Sam, Thanks for your reply, No, I don't plan to run it a constant maximum, i just needed to hear what the recommended max was. I probably will prop it so that my max cruise will be about 3500 or so. I just didn't want to load the engine too much. I don't know about the cam, I assumed that it is a standard cam, nothing special. Gray |

3500 steady will be absolutely no problem, and will be near what the motor's max HP is at. Lou |

Lou, Thanks, that's what i was looking for. 3500 sounds good to me too. What HP @ 3500 do you figure? Someone told me about 150, but i'll bet it's closer to 110. Gray |

110HP is a good realistic guess, unless it is really tuned up (optimized cam timing, ignition timing, carb), or on the other hand, it runs poorly. Lou |
