Seeking advice on an idle problem...I have a 66, 225ci engine. I got the car tuned up, ran great. I then had to let it sit from like November to June of the next year. I got it up and running and now it will not idle well. It kind of lunges, as if it is stuttering to race. I have given it fresh gas, some Seafoam, run it around town, new fuel filter....still doing it. Any help would be appreciated.

November to June is enough time for todays gas to work is magic blocking idle passages with deposits.

Easy stuff first:
Count number of turns of idle mixture screw to bottom, than remove the screw and blast / flush with carb cleaner and replace needle to same number of turns out recorded above.

If flushing did no good, freshen up carb with internal cleaning and a rebuild.

The other cause for poor idle is a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses, and any diaphragm operated vacuum devices such as vacuum advance, power brake booster if equipped, and all gaskets between carb and head.

Thanks so much. I'll add these to my list.
