Got all the parts for my 1973 duster front disk brake up-grade the only thing is the guy at the junk yard told me I don't need to change the upper control arm he said the (mithcell manual) didn't say anything about changing upper control arm them out so he blow torched them off I called the dealer to find out if the arms were the same but there manuals only cover from 1980 and up can anyone tell me what the difference and what manual so I can go back to this place and point it out to them at this time I don't have a parts manuals and most parts stores don't have the information |

the ball joint in is larger on the disk brake upper A-Arms. The upper ball joints from a small bolt drum brake car (like mine) would be too small for the disk brake spindles. I did read somewhere that there is a ball joint that is made to go into the drum brake A-arm with the larger stud for the disk brake spindle I cant remember where I saw it though ![]() |

If you have a '73 Duster with drum brakes, you will just need to replace the upper ball joints. Control arms will be just fine. |

If your car had 9" drum brakes you will have to change the upper control arm to accept the larger disc brake upper ball joint. 10" drum brake cars used the larger upper ball joint like the disc brake cars. |

I used the rubber hoses for a 79' diplomat. They come with a metal mounting bracket attached to them, which you have to remove, but they work perfect. At first i ordered and used the hoses for a 73-76' a body with disk brakes, and they would kink at around 80% of the turning radius. |
