I was looking at the Nov. issue of MCG. On pg. 26 they have the Columbus /6 coverage with a photo with no caption. Is that white car a Mitsi Challenger? Did they come with /6's as an option? It's a good looking car and looks light.

Yes, That is a 1981 Challenger Mitsi body on a tube frame. The car weighs about 2100lbs without me in it. They were 4 cylinder cars. Thanks for the compliment on how it looks.

Thanks for the reply Norm. So the Slant 6 rules allow you to transplant engines? I should read up on the rules one of these days. Do you have a link to a site that explains the car and what you've done in more detail?

No but i had the motor built and it is 60 over with J & E custom pistons and pushrods. Took 100 off the deck and 100 off the head. Head is polished and ported. Had to use copper gasket to keep the pistons and valves from hitting. It has a ultradyne cam with 560 lift and runs with a rons toilet system on alcohol. Stock 904 with reverse manual valve body and a 8 3/4 aluminum case rear end with 4:56 gears and spool. That is about it.

I read the rules. I guess I should have read them before asking.

... hmmm, bracket racing a rail with a stock /6. Should be deadly consistant. Boring, but consistant.

Rules? What rules? Only one rule. Engine must be a Chrysler Slant Six. Anything else goes. Safety equipment required, depending on the ET of the car, of course. That is what is great about slant racing, Build to your budget, and no such thing as cheating.

Charles ran the same thing with the dragster that he ran with the arrow. 9.93.

Dragsters motor was very mild set-up compared to the motor he ran in the arrow.

Who cares what car the slant 6 is in as long as we keep attracting new faces to the cause!
