Post subject: | 82 D150 Carter BBD question |
Gents, I have been working on a 82 D150. The lean burn system is gone and a new electronic ignition is in its place. As I have been following your advice as a group on this restore, I pulled the carb off ( two barrel Carter BBD) to rebuild since it was leaking like a bear. It has a rebuilt sticker on it now. My question is are there any things I have to look for in the body to determine if the carb is still worth re-rebuilding properly? I was very happy to learn that it had a Carter BBD after reading all the bad stuff about the Holley 1 and 2 barrels. ( Though I think the Holley 2 barrel might have been ok too. Just not as good as the Carter from what you guys have written) Thanks in advance. Chuck |

Examine the carb with extreme prejudice. Often the damage done during a factory "remanufacturing" is not practically reversible. |
