I striped the teeth off the cam gear and my chain sliped way out of time. I did not know at the time until I tryed to pull start it and found out by getting air blowing out vacum ports on my carb. so I was wondering if any one could tell me the chances that I could have bent some valves in the prosses of pull starting it. thanks

You didnt bend any valves. Just install a new timing set (I like the Hughes set) and away you go....you will be impressed by the increased performance......

The link didn't work for me, and I haven't been able to find the timing set on the Hughes site for a month. I'm trying to find one for my current rebuild.

the link didn't work for me now... I'd give them a call or drop them an e-mail. I purchased this item on july 3rd and when I called just to make sure, I got the owner on the phone (all the crew was out early due to holiday coming up) very good service... remarkably good!

Hughes was out of stock when I needed mine, but Cox Bros. had some Aussie double roller sets. I was very impressed by mine (but iirc, it was a tad bit more expensive than the Hughes set).

like 2.4 times the price of the huges set: $49.50 vs. $120 (give or take $5 or $10)

Yeah... ok, a large tad  Just offering another source in case the Hughes set is no longer available and he really wants a double roller set.
