If the leak from my oil pump can be fixed by just removing the cover and replacing the 0 ring, does this still require jacking up the engine to get access?

On my 71 duster I was able to remove cover and replace o-ring without doing anything to the engine. Just be careful when you do this, the circular part of pump whose proper name escapes me at the moment is only held in by the cover and the stickynes of the oil so it may plop out.

Woops, I read way to fast... Yeah, the o-ring behind the cover shoudl be servicable... i was thinking about the gasket between the pump and the block. Sorry.

It's a '63 Valiant. It looks like you would have to pull the distributor though to get access.
